Overview
The Adventist Development & Relief Agency (ADRA) is the humanitarian agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. ADRA Papua New Guinea aims to demonstrate God's love by helping people grow in ways that make their lives better. We believe that this growth in communities occurs when people work together and demonstrate care for each other. In order to achieve this growth most effectively, ADRA PNG has adopted five core values: People, Growth, Partnership, Helping and Accountability.
Key Position Outcomes
The position of Programs Director is one of service and commitment to the community development program of ADRA PNG and the staff and volunteers employed with the projects. The Programs Director will support and lead ADRA PNG to achieve the following outcomes:

All projects are designed and implemented in harmony with ADRA PNG's strategic approach and missions.

Project Management Committees are providing appropriate management of project activities.

Project performance management systems are in place that show ADRA PNG projects are well designed, participatory and effective.

Project Managers are increasingly taking personal responsibility of their learning needs and knowledge management.

Project Managers are participating in a leadership development process.
-
Projects are adequately resourced, with well designed and realistic budgets and professional finance management.

Donors are impressed with ADRA PNG's professionally managed projects that have effective community development outcomes.

The Projects Coordination Committee (PROCOM) is meeting regularly and is providing information to the ADRA Administrative Committee (ADCOM) on the strategic direction of programs and appropriateness of ADRA's policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications & Experience

Tertiary Qualifications in Community Development, or similar (Masters preferred)

Minimum 2 years experience in an International NGO setting

Experience in program management (minimum 2 years preferred)

Fluency in English (ability to communicate in Tok Pisin an advantage)

Demonstrated financial management and report writing skills

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Ability to mentor project managers and other staff

Honesty, initiative, vision, leadership, and a commitment to learning

Member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
-
Willingness to commit to minimum 2 year contract.
