IT Security Administrator - 
Adventist Technology

South Pacific Division | Wahroonga, NSW

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SPD) Limited is seeking an experienced and dedicated Security Administrator to join our dynamic IT team in Wahroonga NSW. This full-time position will be based at the South Pacific Division head office and be part of Adventist Technology.

Adventist Technology is an internal managed service provider to many of the entities within the Adventist group across the South Pacific region. Adventist Technology hosts and supports services ranging from core business functions like accounting and payroll, through to church and ministry based solutions.

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the main focus of this position is to be responsible for the protection of data by performing day-to-day information security operations, investigating routine security incidents, and implementing and monitoring compliance with information security policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, well organised, with excellent attention to detail and great communication skills.

Essential:
• Commitment and belief in the teachings, values and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
• Tertiary degree (BA/BS) in computers, computer security or engineering.
• Proven ability to analyse, problem-solve, prioritise and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
• Thorough technical knowledge of network security principles, protocols, standards, data privacy practices, and network/PC operating systems including all Linux and Microsoft client and network operating systems, and various directory services.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with employees and outside personnel on a daily basis.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and exhibit courtesy, diplomacy and kindness at all times.
• Well-developed English language skills including proficiency in verbal and written communication.

Preferred:
• Be eligible to hold the appropriate Seventh-day Adventist church licence.
• Certifications such as Cisco, CompTIA’s Advanced Security Practitioner, CISSP, GIAC Certified Penetration Tester, among others, are highly recommended and strongly encouraged if not already obtained.

Other:
• Some travel within Australia and other countries in the South Pacific as necessary.

Graduate Assistant Accountant (contract)

South Pacific Division | Wahroonga NSW

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SPD) Limited is seeking a highly motivated recent undergraduate to join its Treasury team as soon as possible. This role is part of a 24 month maximum term graduate program based primarily at the Division head office in Wahroonga NSW. It is ideally suited to someone looking to gain practical experience and full exposure to the Church’s accounting and finance related areas. Reporting directly to the Division Senior Accountant, this role requires someone with a passion for accounting and commitment to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. If you are looking to kick-start your accounting career within Adventist employment and have recently completed your tertiary studies, then this role could be for you!

Selection Criteria 
Essential:
• Strong commitment to the teachings, values, beliefs and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church;
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, accounting, or commerce;
• Good written and oral communication skills; and
• A demonstrable sound understanding of basic accounting practices and procedures.

Preferred:
• Ability to learn quickly and apply technological developments;
• Ability to meet predetermined work deadlines;
• Be computer literate and possess experience in the use of relevant computer based accounting package(s); and
• An understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, Taxation Law, Corporate Law, Commercial and General Business Law.

Human Resources Manager - People Services

South Pacific Division | Wahroonga, NSW

The South Pacific Division’s People Services team is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager who can develop effective relationships across the organisation and provide a professional HR service to the Church in the South Pacific.

This full-time role will be based at the Division head office in Wahroonga NSW, and will report to the General Manager of People Services. Key functions of this position will be to:
• Provide HR leadership and support to the Division;
• Develop and promote a workplace culture that is in harmony with the Church’s mission and values; and
• Provide professional HR policies, practices and resources that comply with government employment legislation/regulation.

Essential:
• Strong commitment to the teachings, values and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
• Have or be eligible to hold the appropriate Seventh-day Adventist Church licence/credential.
• Tertiary qualifications in a human resource management related discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience in human resource management.
• A comprehensive working knowledge of the church and its management throughout the South Pacific Division.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, coaching, communication, negotiation and consultative skills at all levels.
• A proven ability to handle pressure and manage conflicting demands.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Current passport and Australian driver’s licence and willing and able to travel.

Preferred:
• A sound understanding of employment practice and law.
• A broad understanding of the workings and culture of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific.
• A demonstrated track record in developing and implementing strategic business and HR objectives within a complex, multi-business organisation.
• Keen attention to detail, with good analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SPD) Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced person to develop policy, procedures and programs and provide advice and monitor legal compliance within the workplace. This includes planning, directing and implementing compliance in the areas of Health and Safety, Return to Work, Privacy and other employment legislative areas. Based at the South Pacific Division head office in Wahroonga NSW, this full-time role will report directly to the General Manager of People Services.

Essential:

• Recognized qualifications and/or experience in Human Resource Management, Employment Law, Work Health and Safety, or other recognized fields.
